About Us
The Lyme Central School District is nestled in the picturesque Northern Jefferson County, fourteen miles Northwest of Watertown and twenty miles West of the United States Army Fort Drum and 10th Mountain Division. On the doorstep of the Thousand Islands region, short trips of 2-3 hours can place you in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains or the Finger Lakers region of New York State.
The predominantly rural area includes The Villages of Chaumont and Three Mile Bay, surrounded by the natural beauty of the eastern Lake Ontario shoreline. This area supports a large summer seasonal community of cottagers that enjoy fishing and boating.
With a close-knit community and a single-building district, Lyme Central School provides an intimate and supportive environment for its 340 students from Pre-K to 12th grade. The district's commitment to academic excellence is complemented by a rich array of extracurricular activities, including musical groups, drama club, academic competitions, and interscholastic sports.
Lyme Central School District is home to a dedicated professional staff of 68, including the Superintendent, Principal, and Curriculum and Data Coordinator. Together with our passionate teaching staff, they strive to ensure a high-quality education for our students. Additionally, our non-teaching staff members play an essential role in providing valuable services such as transportation, cafeteria support, maintenance, and clerical assistance.
