The Lyme Community is without a doubt my home and it is heartwarming that this is where my career not only began, but has continued. I graduated from Lyme Central School in 1995 and went on to pursue math and science at SUNY Canton. I then left the area and earned a dual bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and returned to earn my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from SUNY Potsdam.
I had the pleasure of starting my teaching career at Lyme, where I spent 17 years teaching Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Middle Level Sciences. As a teacher, I was involved in various committees and initiatives such as the Health & Safety, the Annual Professional Performance Review, and Strategic Planning. I co-chaired the New Teacher Orientation team to support new teachers to the district and worked with teachers in grades PreK-12 with the implementation of new standards and curriculums. As a result of the work I’ve done with teachers, I decided to attend SUNY Oswego where I earned administration degrees in School Building and School District Administration.
I am excited to move into the Curriculum & Data Coordinator role at Lyme. My knowledge of the students, staff, and community has made the transition from teacher to administrator quite smooth. The variety of the roles I held as a teacher leader, prepared me for the multitude of tasks I work on today. As the Curriculum & Data Coordinator, I will work with students, staff, and families with state assessments and results, community outreach events, social-emotional learning, DASA, and much more.
Although I know many families in our district from my time as a teacher, I look forward to working with all of you in this new capacity.
